2004 Rendezvous and Annual Meeting Schedule of Events

The North Dakota Fur Takers Fall Rendezvous will be held August 20, 21, & 22 at the 4-H Camp near the town of Washburn, ND. It is located 40 miles North of Bismarck, ND along the mighty Missouri River Shores. Come and experience the fun!

  • Wildgame Nutrition Seminar
  • Craft Demonstrations
  • Chili Cookoff (bring your own ingredients)
  • Coondog Hound hunting Demonstration (Canceled)

CHILDREN EVENTS INCLUDE

  • Beginner's Trapping Course
  • Trap Hiding and Trap Setting Contests
  • Fishing Contest Along the Shore (Bring your own fishing rod) Fur Takers will Supply Bait.
  • Large Open Field for Kids to Play ball and a basketball court for fun and games.

Their will be a sit down breakfast held on Saturday morning. Bring your own sausage and the Fur Takers will supply the rest. Also, there will be food vendors on the grounds for other meals.

On Saturday at noon, the Annual Fall Meeting will be held. An election of officers will be held at that time. If you have anyone in mind, please nominate them at the meeting. Following the meeting, will be the White Elephant Auction Sale. Saturday evening will be the Annual Raffle Drawing.

There are primitive camping spots, camper parking spots and bunkhouse facilities with modern plumbing and hot showers available. Please bring your own linens, towels, pillows, and toiletries.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department will also have personnel on hand for demos and answer questions you may have.

 

There are lots of area attractions too! The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center is just up the road from the 4-H Campgrounds - about a mile. A little further up the road is the Fort Mandan Historic Site where the Lewis and Clark Expedition stayed during the winters of 1804 and 1806. Also nearby, is the Cross Ranch State Park, Fort Clark Historic Site and the Knife River Indian Village Historic Site. These are all located along one of the only stretches of the Missouri River not changed by the many dams built on the river. Please come and experience it all this year at the Fur Takers 2004 Rendezvous!!!
